  Stop Blackberry issue to ALL Government Employees

  Every employee in DHS/CBP/OIOC is required to have a Blackberry. They all don't need them! There are over 139 personnel in the Office of Intelligence Operations Coordination (OIOC). Management should get them as they are accountable to Senior Leadership, so that is maybe 6 blackberries 10 on the outside vice the 139 now being bought and supported. Management should get them as they are accountable to Senior Leadership, so that is maybe 6 blackberries 10 on the outside vice the 139 now being bought and supported. Think of the hundereds of thousands of dollars in saving in that one office alone. Now think about that savings across the whole government. Senior Leadership should be the only ones issued blackberries. Why do normal employees actually need them? (Understand that other parts and employees of CBP have a valid need like the Border Patrol Agents actually on the borders, etc.) What did we ever do before the "crackberry?"

  Stop KSA Requirements for Fed Job Application

  A while back OPM announced that USAJobs would stop using KSAs. I thought this would be great! You would apply for a job using your Resume only. Then each agency created another process and you link to it via USAJobs. This other system requires answer questions and/or proving a long paragraph response...just like the KSA. We need to streamline the application process and search the Resume for key words or phrases vice ...more »

Then each agency created another process and you link to it via USAJobs. This other system requires answer questions and/or proving a long paragraph response...just like the KSA. We need to streamline the application process and search the Resume for key words or phrases vice the KSA. The information provided in the "paragraph" should be brought out during the interview process vice being written. Currently jobs that have KSAs or KSA like requirements are taking 6 to 9 months to fill because of the amount of documentation that is required to be read. Really? There isn't a better use of everyone's time?
