Pay the borrowers, not the lenders
We fixed the roof and have not addressed the foundation. Why did government pay the banks with TARP to keep them afloat and never addressed the real issue: upside down home loans. Would it not make better sense to buy down a home loan to an acceptable level so that the owner can affort the payments, than to prop up the banks all the time realizing that until home values increase the problem will continue. Would it not make better sense to buy down a home loan to an acceptable level so that the owner can affort the payments, than to prop up the banks all the time realizing that until home values increase the problem will continue. Buy down home loans to meet current values instead of continuing to prop up banks that are too big to fall.
