Restore America's Greatness
I have a 7 year old daughter. I don't want to find myself telling my grandchildren old folk stories about how great America used to be. We all know where America is now... and regardless of how it got to this point, the time has come to do something. I have a 7 year old daughter. I don't want to find myself telling my grandchildren old folk stories about how great America used to be. We all know where America is now... and regardless of how it got to this point, the time has come to do something.
This is what needs to be done:
1) The Federal Government needs to take a back seat to local government. This is how the Constitution is written. A government that is closer to the people it is governing, is more accountable, more responsive, and more responsible.
2) The character and moral conduct of our legislators should be without question. If they do not live up to these standards, they should be fired. Plain and simple. "Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other." "The people have a right, an indisputable, unalienable, indefeasible, divine right to that most dreaded and envied kind of knowledge - I mean of the character and conduct of their rulers." -John Adams, 2nd President, signer of the Declaration of Independence.
3) "The Senators and Representatives ... shall be bound by Oath or Affirmation, to support this Constitution". - US Constitution, Article 6, Clause 3 Any acts or legislation that goes against this should result in the immediate dismissal of the representative.
4)Article I, Section 8, of the Constitution states that Congress shall have the power "To regulate Commerce with foreign Nations." These are powers delegated by the Constitution to Congress. They should not be delegated elsewhere. The Office of Special Trade Representative should be abolished as it goes against Article I, Section VIII of the Constitution. NAFTA, GATT, and WTO should be abolished as well, as they are crippling the US economy.
Thomas Jefferson said it best when he said something to the effect of, "let us not be so concerned with trampeling the rights of others, that we trampel our own." I'm in total agreeance that everyone should have the same rights and freedoms in this country; but more and more the rights of the few are trampeling the rights of the many. The United States is fundamentally a Christian, English speaking country. Our Constitution is written in English, and God is referenced numerous times. All government correspondence is written in English. It is time that the U.S. adopts English as it's national language. Doing so will save funds that are spent to print duplicate materials in foreign languages. If it isn't English, it is considered a "foreign language," is it not? So, by all accounts we are an English speaking country... it's time to make it official.
