Educate Americas TP's and eliminate IRS Free Tax Program
Include teaching Americans how to do a tax return as a mandatory part of the school curriculum and the IRS can eliminate their multi-million dollar program that handles volunteer tax preparation. Include teaching Americans how to do a tax return as a mandatory part of the school curriculum and the IRS can eliminate their multi-million dollar program that handles volunteer tax preparation. This would save the $13 million or more that the VITA program uses, the $7 million or more that the TCE program uses, and eliminate the Stakeholder Partnerships, Education and Communications department of the IRS that employs over 1000 people and costs multiple millions of dollars a year in salaries, travel, training, printing, etc. Use the Education system to teach something that every American is obligated to do for their entire life. Teach them the "Why and How" of taxes, you can even use the already existing "Understanding Taxes" program that was written for the IRS by teachers.
