Obesity may become a threat to national security
Every able bodied male and female should be required to join the military in some capacity to maintain military prowess. At a minimum, the government should expand the age limits from 17-42(ARMY) to 16-45 for all ARMED FORCES not just the army so that more citizens can participate in the armed forces, and offset the diminished amounts of recruitment from rising obesity. Research shows that 190 Million Americans are Obese or Overweight. Childhood Obesity has Tripled in the last 30 Years Think about it, younger generational groups would benefit from the discipline and older generations still have so much to offer. As long as they meet the evaluative criteria established by the armed forces, age shouldn't matter. I know older men, including myself who are more athletically fit than youth.
