  Implement the Fair Tax!

  The Fair Tax is a detailed, specific piece of legislation (HR 25 and S13) with a growing list of co-sponsors (57 in the House and 5 in the Senate) that will address many of the most significant issues in our country (fair taxation, immigration, corruption in D.C.).   The Fair Tax is a detailed, specific piece of legislation (HR 25 and S13) with a growing list of co-sponsors (57 in the House and 5 in the Senate) that will address many of the most significant issues in our country (fair taxation, immigration, corruption in D.C.). Go to the federal website Thomas.Gov and read the legislation, then go to the library and read about it. There are several common myths about why this is a bad idea, and there are books that address each of them. The IRS can be significantly reduced by allowing the States to collect the tax in conjunction with state sales tax processes already in place in most states. Any congressman that doesn't support this legislation does so because it will eliminate their ability to add tax loopholes to pay back lobbyists who help them get elected.

  Eliminate Departments of Education & Dept of Energy

  The establishment of these Federal Agencies is in direct conflict with the 10th Amendment of the U.S. Constitution, and these agencies have utterly failed in their stated mission. In the case of the Dept. of Education, the national average for graduation rates of High School seniors was 70.2% when it was established, and now more than 30 years later the rate is approximately 70.8%, and the annual budget is approximately ...more »

  The establishment of these Federal Agencies is in direct conflict with the 10th Amendment of the U.S. Constitution, and these agencies have utterly failed in their stated mission. In the case of the Dept. of Education, the national average for graduation rates of High School seniors was 70.2% when it was established, and now more than 30 years later the rate is approximately 70.8%, and the annual budget is approximately $70 billion. The Dept of Energy was created by Carter in the late 70's to reduce our reliance on foreign oil, which was 30% at the time. Again, over 30 years later the budget is in excess of $70 billion and our reliance on foreign oil has increased to 70%. We can't just reform these agencies, they need to be eliminated all together and the authority returned to the States as defined in the Constitution. We need serious cuts in spending to ensure the financial health of our country going forward.
