  One change to transform the nation.

  Government is supposed to promote & protect policies that keep our nation strong & prosperous & citizens free. Congress needs to repeal DOMA. This one change can bring about the equitable reform of taxes, immigration, Social Security, SSI, welfare programs, health insurance, family leave, pensions, the legal system, the economy, & our world standing.   Government is supposed to promote & protect policies that keep our nation strong & prosperous & citizens free. Congress needs to repeal DOMA. This one change can bring about the equitable reform of taxes, immigration, Social Security, SSI, welfare programs, health insurance, family leave, pensions, the legal system, the economy, & our world standing. It’s the shortcut to competitiveness, modernization, effective & efficient use of government resources & agencies.

  I’m no expert, more of a cheerleader, but when I see estimates of saving billions for the federal & state governments & multi-billion windfall for the US economy, I’ll happily be a voice crying in the wilderness.

  Intra-agency Communication

  Billions would be saved by improving communication between agencies. Reduce fraud, improper payments, & uncollectible overpayments (SSA/Medicare/Medicaid/IRS). Improve reliability & validity of information (FBI/DHS/DEA/ICE), Same for CIA/FBI. Sure we can propose these huge agencies be merged but make some simple, obvious, computerized changes 1st.

  Allow open/active LGBTQ Americans to serve this great nation. Honor the years of hard work & sacrifice of those who already are. We need all the help we can get to protect our interests both domestically & abroad. A diverse pool of talent = strength = success, for our nation, our military, our communities.   SSI Reform & Representative Payees

  If a Representative Payee has more than one beneficiary (usually parents of multiple disabled children) send one combined payment. Examine Rep Payee accounting forms more critically & require some PROOF of how the money was spent. Terminate SSI payments to families where able-bodied adults refuse to seek gainful employment or participate in vocational programs. Terminate SSI payments to families who use the children's ...more »

  Social reform & Innovation!

  This country has been playing with thermostats, office supplies, savings plans, alternative energy, & staff reductions for years. Those options are all necessary but certainly not enough! We need massive social reform & innovative thinking! We need the guts that founded this country to promote the hard work, prosperity, & equality of individual citizens!   Legalize Same-Sex Marriages at the Federal Level

  Put the excellent federal employees at SSA Teleservice Centers, Field Offices, & Payment Centers to good work processing all the new claims. Greatly reduce court costs related to denials & the inconsistiences between State & Federal laws. Greatly reduce funding needed to support disadvantaged "widow(er)s," spouses," & "divorced spouses" enrolled in other social programs.
