  Invest Unused funds in the education of young Americans

  Using end of year unused funds to support education for America’s youth (grants, scholarships, etc.) on behalf of the particular agency or the Federal Government. A program can be developed where efficient/effective agencies get rewarded for achieving their mission at low costs while improving the nation’s educational status.   Using end of year unused funds to support education for America’s youth (grants, scholarships, etc.) on behalf of the particular agency or the Federal Government. A program can be developed where efficient/effective agencies get rewarded for achieving their mission at low costs while improving the nation’s educational status. This will reduce waste and give the nation a chance to continue being the leader in promoting education and innovation.

  PS: the recipient students can be asked to work for the donating agencies upon graduation. etc.

  Standardize the security configuration for medical devices

  As we progress towards the National Electronic Health Record goal, it is imperative to develop a national standard for the security configuration of medical devices. A “minimum” standard will have multiple benefits:

  a. Enhanced security

  b. Stronger Privacy (protected PHI)

  c. Enhanced patient safety

  d. Cost savings for both the agencies and the vendors, healthcare providers

  Agencies Assisting each other

  Develop a Federal Share Drive or Collaboration Application where agencies can share information: Such as: Security Applications, Privacy Applications, Best Practices, Specific Business standard operating procedures, issues, etc.. This type of collaboration will lead us to a more effective and efficient government.

  Reduce Waste by offering incentives to agencies/Departments for

  Offer agencies monetary or other pertinent incentives for accomplishing its mission or project objectives with less than expected funds. Strong justification and supporting evidence must accompany the incentive request.

  Alternative transportation to reduce oil dependancy

  Design and build bike trails/paths around major cities to encourage less gas consumption, more exercise, and safety.   Full Speed ahead towards an oil independent nation

  Follow Brazil’s 1970- 1990’s model of encouraging all to use alternative fuel sources. If Brazil could do it, so can the US.

  It is not easy and it is not immediate but it can be done.

  Federal Agencies to facilitate the patenting process for innovative ideas submitted by their employees and which may benefit the nation. This legal and professional patenting service will serve as an initiative for new national technologies by Americans and for Americans.

  Maximize Government Training Investment

  Maximize Government Training Investments: Military personnel who are ready to leave active duty and who have earned outstanding performance evaluations should be offered direct transfer to a comparable and available FTE position in a Federal agency. (Medical professionals - VHA, IT professionals - any Fed agency, etc.) Similarly, a Federal employee in one agency with outstanding evaluations should have direct transfer ...more »

  Maximize Government Training Investments: Military personnel who are ready to leave active duty and who have earned outstanding performance evaluations should be offered direct transfer to a comparable and available FTE position in a Federal agency.   Develop a private Internet or site for medical research scientists to collaborate and share non-sensitive data and ideas in an effort to advance health related discoveries worldwide. This measure should focus on the health for the people and not on exorbitant profit.
