  Eliminate the Working While DIB Programs

  As others have suggested we spend millions by people not reporting their earnings to SSA while they are receiving a SSA benefits and they end up overpaid. Why should we continue a work program at all? No one paid us till we found a job, so why pay someone else to do the same thing.   As others have suggested we spend millions by people not reporting their earnings to SSA while they are receiving a SSA benefits and they end up overpaid. Why should we continue a work program at all? No one paid us till we found a job, so why pay someone else to do the same thing. The original intent was good but we see it every day where someone applies for dib because they "cant work" but as soon as its approved they come in and say "when can I go to work!" They starting "milking" the system right out of the gate because it is such a prevelant practice.

  STOP SSI FOR KIDS, GIVE MEDICAL COVERAGE ONLY

  One of the largest expenses I see each and everyday at SSA is the payment of SSI benefits to disabled children. Disability benefits are supposed to be for people who become disabled and are no longer able to provide an income for themselves or their families.   One of the largest expenses I see each and everyday at SSA is the payment of SSI benefits to disabled children. Disability benefits are supposed to be for people who become disabled and are no longer able to provide an income for themselves or their families. Children would never even worked in the first place so there was no income lost in that family. Please STOP this unnecessary payment to kids, provide them with health insurance coverage only. We spend billions of dollars each and every year on this program. All we ever hear from parents is that they just need medical insurance for their kids. SSA could provide benefits for a much longer period of time by elimanating this coverage to those who actually have paid into the system.
