Facebook and social media is great, when it is done in the right situation. Do we really need Facebook sites for all sorts of offices? I don't know any one that checks these things except to make fun of them. If there is an actual use for them I would be all for them, but I am yet to see one.

For stakeholders interacting with certain agencies (ie EPA, DOT, OSHA), create regulation-specific Twitter or Facebook accounts that update interested parties in the progress of federal rulemaking. This would give stakeholders a rule-specific stream of updates on major issues.
Facebook allows users to link to sites outside of their network (ie You Tube).

Many people waste incredible amounts of time on Facebook. Since almost nobody needs it as a tool to do their job, the solution seems simple: block Facebook so that employees cannot connect to it. Without some mechanism to prevent it, huge amounts of time will continue to be wasted, and many people seem to feel it is an entitlement. This needs to change.

Get input from those in the private sector that do business with the government or have to go through the government to do business in this country.
