Use Biometrics to Save Money

Eliminate all kinds of fraud as well as the need for passwords by using biometrics. The government and the private sector should use biometrics to help to eliminate fraud and to make the internet more secure. Small fingerprint readers should be installed at every computer. These readers will be able to verify a persons identity so they can access to their accounts. This will make things much more difficult for identity thieves and internet hoodlums and it will also elminate the need for passwords. People could vote from home using these devices which could help to prevent voter fraud. In addition, biometrics could be used to verify a person's eligibility for social services; they could be placed at grocery stores in order to ensure that the person who is using food stamps is actually the person who is supposed to receive the benefits. This would reduce paperwork as well as the need for cards. Biometrics could also be used to ensure that a person is a citizen and eligible to work in this country before they are employed.

  2. Some banks have instituted finger print identification and it has cut the amount of fraud and theft of cash withdrawal against a credit card. Proving it would work and be effective.

  3. Great idea, but the ACLU has fought national IDs and Biometrics tooth and nail. The US does this in Irag and Afghanistan to keep track of individuals and green card holders must submit to biometrics. As long as constitutional law is interpreted to prevent this it could work as a voluntary program, just like passports and other government IDs.

It's not surprising that the ACLU would fight something like that tooth and nail. They don't seem to consider the cost to American tax payers of providing healthcare, education, and other services to illegals. It's also obvious that they view the fraud that occurs in the welfare system as a justifiable transfer of wealth. The cost of providing services to illegals, in addition to the fraud that goes on, probably costs the taxpayers of this country hundreds of billions of dollars. The ACLU doesn't care about cost and they think its perfectly fair for the U.S. to be the welfare state of the world.

  6. Ask anyone who has had their identity stolen or had a credit card stole and charges run sky high how they would feel! I would bet any one of them would love to have their finger print tied to their information. Their identify would not have been able to be stolen and they would have saved hundreds of thousands of dollars and hours in clearing their names and getting their credit fixed! We are talking finger prints not implants!!
