Stop Government Duplication

I agree to have my idea, not my name or information, posted online.:

Several agencies within the government are doing the same type of research or offering the same services. For example...climate change science is being researched by DOC, DOI, NASA, and others. Why are we duplicating this effort?

  3. The bottom line is that there is so much overlap because of redundancy, that the cost to the tax payer is multiplied several times. For example, all law enforcement should be under one agency. The public has no idea of the cost and overlap and redundancy of the different agencies. Recently, there was a large scale raid over the US, and at least 5 agencies were doing their own investigations. You can not imagine the man hours that were duplicated. If all were under on agency and had one director, it would have cost probably half the man hours. But as long as our leaders have an unlimited pocket book, and each agency goes its own directtion, it will not change

  4. ATF, DEA and FBI have very different missions requiring different training and skills. Seems to me a little like turf, politics does play a part but so does the fact that when an Agency specializes on one area, they become pretty good at it. Also, who takes over. My gut says FBI but I don't know anything about law enforcement except as an outsider and a little from term papers, talking to various Philly cops, etc. Would DEA missions really be done better if it was under the FBI umbrella? DEA has national and international scope while FBI is primarly national. CIA in theory, (not entirely reality) international mission only.

  5. I also fear having just one federal law enforcement agency. We need more than one so one can keep an eye on the other Agencies.
