STOP Nearly 1 in 10 House members paid at least six-figure bonus

I agree to have my idea, not my name or information, posted online.:
Yes

"Nearly 1 in 10 House members paid at least six-figure bonuses to their staffs last year", see the link below. This is a nosebleed that must stop. Take the ability to give these bonuses out of Congressional hands. OMB or some other agency must approve.

What this means is that the staffers THEMSELVES are putting in for a bonus. They do all the work.

Millions of Americans are out of work, this is shameful waste of tax money.

  1. What a wreck congress has become - paid vacations, self raises, self bonuses, crazy salaries, staffs, plane rides for friends and family, limos, lies, paid not to farm their farms, pork, pot, prostitutes, in-fighting, blaming, arguing, finger pointing, crying, over spending, over loafing, cant pass a budget, favors, back-backs, get-backs, did I mention lying......

    it is embarrassing.....

  2. They have always been scally-wags. There are those who think that they couldn't be where they are without being scally-wags. We've got the Internet now, we can monitor this stuff. It won't change unless we make them put it back. Same thing as the banking crisis money---put it back. When they're required to bring it back it will stop.

  4. Thing is, here we are presenting ideas about how to save paper and paperclips, and there is a nosebleed like this going unchecked. Members would say that the voters give them their Performance Appraisal.

    We need to implement.

  5. Civil Servents only get a bonus if we perform above and beyond and then it's limited and subject to taxes. they should have the same rules as other feds.

  6. We hear how those recently elected are listening to the American people;are they really. Both parties need to come together, it does NOT matter which side of the isle you are sitting. Those elected Officials have forgotten as elected they are to do a job for us. That being said I really think that since they wanted to get into politics to Serve they should do so with out pay and that they should pay into their Retirment and Health funds and yes reduce terms. The American public has gotten lazy they have been caught up in all the daily stress that they have forgotten the power of the Vote; into and out of. Mr. President I think you and every future President should surrender their pay and perks. Once this happens then truly Congress will be able to listen and know just what the American People want.

  7. An excellent idea...who will be the first rich congressperson to forego pay altogether for the good of the nation. Senators are millionaires several times over, why doesn't somebody turn the pay back to the Treasury... Unwritten Code of Silence. They're not in touch in most ways....

Mr. Boehner ordered a 5% staff cut from each and every member. What would your spouse say if you ordered a 5% Household cut, effective immediately?

Yeahright. Talk to me when you can count.
