Make Open Source work for the Government

Create a repository of open source software that is available to all federal employees. This repository would contain software that increases the efficiency of federal employees and their processes. The broad availability of the repository would allow useful software to quickly spread throughout government agencies. The repository would be useful users and contributors. Users of the repository would have easy access to safe, verified software. Contributors to the repository would be able to work on something that is interesting to them while affecting change throughout the government.

  1. Have you ever tried to order software? What a nightmare! This process needs to be "simple". Not all gov agencies are "offices". Different functions require different needs.

  3. Yes, DISA does host forge.mil, but it is only accessible for folks with a Common Access Cards. It would be great if there was a data repository that was available to all branches of the federal Government (not just DoD).
