College tuition to illegal immigrants??

Who thought this was a good use of money? Enough said.

    Can you speak about a specific incident where an illegal ailien has received this? Under what federal program? Pell grants are only available to eligible U.S. citizens.

    Some information about "free medical":

    *Illegal immigrants generally are not eligible for Medicaid except under certain circumstances, i.e. it is for an emergency.(And are you really going to turn away a human being who needs immediate help?)

    *A RAND study concluded that the total federal cost of providing medical expenses for the 78% illegal immigrants without health insurance coverage was $1.1 billion, with immigrants paying $321 million of health care costs out-of-pocket.

    *IRS reports that illegal immegrants pay in about $7 billion per year into Social Security. This is money coming into the U.S. Govt that the illegal cannot receive benefits from.

    *And lastly, the IRS estimates that 50% to 75% of unauthorized immegrants pay federal, state, and local taxes.

    So, yes, they may receive some services (often from states and local communities, with some financial help form the federal Govt), but many also pay into the system. Remember, the money they pay into Social Security goes towards use by LEGAL U.S citizens.

    One, are we talking about "unauthorized" or "illegal" aliens. If they are illegal aliens, I really doubt they are paying taxes. Where is your source of information. You claim the IRS reports illegal aliens paid 7 billion in SSA taxes. I really doubt it. prove it, provide the link.

    Think about it. An illegal alien goes to a costruction company to find work. The owner of the company has to report the payroll to the IRS and SSA (or risk being fined). When the alien provides a fake SSN, or a SSN that does not match his name, the SSA puts the money paid into a special account.

    available estimates have significant limitations; therefore, using them to determine an aggregate effect across all states would be difficult and prone to considerable error.

    Which means they don't have a clue. Nice try, though.

    We're not talking about aggregate effects on individual states here (at least I wasn't) but rather about federal income. This does not change the fact that illegal immigrants DO pay into Social Security and income tax, as long as they are employed by someone who files with the feds such as hotels, large agricultural operations, construction companies, etc.
