I understand there is certain information that needs to kept secret to ensure the safety and welfare of Americans, but there is also information that should be made public to everyone. Though FOIA is wonderful, the average person should not have to jump through hoops to find out who financed their Senator's campaign.
Be honest, tell us how much taxes companies like Exxon and Microsoft are paying, and what exemptions they are receiving. Which lobbyists are working with which Congressmen/Senators? How much money are we sending in aid to other countries? How much money was paid to contractors for never received or defective products? These are just a few questions that should be easily accessable to the general, voting, public.
