Think about it. If you buy American you can be sure of the quality and if it is bad then you can find them and help to correct the problem. Yes, we may pay a little more but so what, your helping the economy stay strong and Americans employed. BUY AMERICAN
Needed, see like from two weeks ago and would appreciate the votes to push it further;

Roger that. agree to the linked suggestion also!!!
How will U.S. colleges and universities buying giveaways made in the U.S. make the U.S. Federal Government more efficient and effective?
The idea had nothing to do with what the colleges and universities buy. That is up to those institutions. This suggestion is regarding the give-aways from the different entities of the federal government.
If you don't think there is alot of this then take another look. Not only from the agencies at college and university job fairs but also all the military recruiting all over the place. most of the give-aways are made in China not in the USA.
Nope, this does not make the gov't more efficient; it will cost more. Besides, can one even buy products like these that are made in the US. I challenge the OP to only buy products for their household made in the US. Somethings are not even made in the US anymore.
Actually SOME of the SWAG was made in the USA. This suggestion would cause US manufacturers to want to produce these typse of products again. Currently the US is no longer a manufacturing economy and except for agriculture we run a trade defecit in all areas of trade.
While the OP is a good soapbox topic, it can't and won't happen ever again.
US made goods, from cars to socks, cost 25% and up more than foreign made products of the same type.
The very products the OP talks about, giveaways, couldn't be made in the US, as you couldn't afford to give them away, you'd have to sell them for top retail prices, if they were made in the USA.
I'd settle for vehicles and the related parts, lawn equipment and related items, and tools being made in the US again, and most all of us would buy them.
I wish it weren't true, but, we've cut our own throats on this issue.
