Added Tuition Assistance Benefit for Federal Employees with Kids

I agree to have my idea, not my name or information, posted online.:
Yes

The adage "EDUCATION IS FUNDAMENTAL" is important to our nation as a whole. Just read any text on Outsourcing (e.g. The World is Flat, Post American World, etc), which explains how India, China, and a half dozens other countries will lead the world in terms of the amounts of graduate students with nation building skills (math and science). Remember, education is a major vehicle to remain competitive and tuition assistance for government empoyees with children would provide an improved compensation package to people who have already demonstrated a unparalleled level of dedication to America in order to increase competitiveness.

The alternative is to let graduates from elsewhere take the helm and lead you and I into the future. You decide. CLICK AGREE FOR TUITION ASSISTANCE!

  3. I'm all for increasing education and competitiveness, but this proposal seems to assume that the children of federal employees are somehow more deserving than others, or at least more likely to be at the forefront of leading than other children (and hence, be given advantages like tuition assistance). I don't buy that for a second.

  4. The government is already providing tuition assistance - they are paying your salary.

If there was money available to put into educational reform, it should be put into making the overall system more competitive, not giving advantages to children whose parents are lucky enough to work for the government.

The educational opportunities in this country are almost limitless. Whether or not a student achieves a high level of success boils down to his/her ambition. The opportunity is there. It has nothing to do with whether your parents work for the government or not.

  5. Don't allow foreign students until all seats are filled with American kids. Then, if there's any seats leftover foreignors can have a crack at it.

    Americans first!
