In his State of the Union address, President Obama articulated a broad vision for winning the future that includes making the federal government more efficient and effective.

On March 11, President Obama signed a Presidential Memorandum which establishes the Government Reform for Competitiveness and Innovation Initiative to develop proposals for making our government more effective and efficient.

Our first focus is on the agencies and functions that support one of our nation’s most important priorities – increasing trade, exports and our overall competitiveness. In addition to conferring broadly with external stakeholders, we want to hear from Federal employees about what works and what we can improve. Submit your ideas by April 15 and let us know what you think about the scope and effectiveness of government programs, areas of overlap and duplication, unmet needs, and possible cost savings.
